It's really hard to describe these kicks without visuals go along with the explaination.  As for the butterfly kick I will try my best:

1) Stand in a position that is similar to that of a front stance, but more of a lunge.  If you have your right leg forward, then you want to have your left hand reaching out while right reaching back.

2) Step back with your lead foot as to change the stance, while simutaneously switching the hands

3) Dip down in a circular motion towards the foot that just stepped back with.

4) When you begin to raise up from the dip you are going to push up with the opposite leg to get the height while pulling your chest up.

I hope this helps.  Again, it is very hard to describe this without visuals.  I would recommend Matt Mullins' book which covers a lot of these kicks.

it is a little difficult without visual aid.  it sounds pretty easy but picturing it in my mind im guessing it takes alot of practice to perfect.
